WRIT 3500: REVISION

"White Prayer Pages" From Prose to Poetry

In the writing capstone class a project over the course was to revise a piece of writing from our DU past and turn it into a different genre than what it originally was. For this I took my short story "White Prayer Pages" from my fiction class and turned it into a sequence of poems. I wanted to see just how this piece might be able to translate into a strictly poetic form since while writing the prose version I already took some poetic liberties with sentence structures and poetic voice.

This piece helped me recognize the flexibility within my own writing and it made me more confident in my revision skills.
