DECONSTRUCTION
April, 2020
This deconstructions takes apart my op-ed piece to show what I was thinking while I wrote it, why I included certain parts, and how peer review really assisted me in the writing process. Deconstructing this piece caused me to look within each sentence and ask myself why and how I wrote what I wrote. This helped me be more conscious of my writing process.
ECOSYSTEM MAP
April, 2020
This ecosystem map uses Prezi in order to show where my short story "White Prayer Pages" came from, where it has gone, and where it might go in the future. This was a great way to see where my own inspiration came from and what this piece of writing might further inspire in others.
MIND MAP
April, 2020
This mind map takes into account three different pieces I have written (a short story, an academic essay, and an op-ed) and looks at different elements that went into each of them. This explores where these three pieces of writing and genres may intersect in my own writing process and formation. This analysis helped me understand my writing impulses and how similar my writing techniques really are even across genres.
REFLECTION
April, 2020
This is a reflection of the same three pieces found in my Mind Map. The reflection looks in, out, back, and forward within my writing and what it means to me. How have these pieces changed me as a writer? Where do I want to challenge myself? Why do I feel I can be called a writer? This made me really look deep into myself and my writing experiences at DU.
WRITING STATS INFOGRAPHIC
April, 2020
This infographic took a lot of time to create as it is a compilation of statistics from my past three years of writing at DU. These are essays, stories, poems, etc. put together and counted, analyzed, and put into a concise infographic for viewing. This project gave me a good sense of how much writing I've done in college so far, and I got a better sense of design techniques while putting together the infographic.
